Quebec has the lowest cigarette prices in Canada thanks to the country’s lowest provincial tobacco tax, but a carton still runs $120-$140 at retail in Montreal and Quebec City. Native cigarettes at $29.99 a carton beat even Quebec’s low prices by a wide margin, delivered fast across the province.
Cigarette prices in Quebec: retail vs native
A carton of 200 name-brand cigarettes costs about $120-$140 at retail in Quebec. The same-size carton of native cigarettes is $29.99 at Native Discount Smokes. For a pack-a-day smoker, that’s roughly $4,200 saved per year. See the full price breakdown for every province.
Quebec is also close to where native cigarettes are made, so delivery is quick. And for menthol smokers: since Canada banned retail menthols, the native market is one of the only places to still find a true menthol cigarette, Canadian Menthol is a Quebec favourite.
